OUR MINISTRIES
It’s not easy being a girl today amidst culture’s problems, pitfalls, and pressures. You want her to feel confident, secure, and loved—for who she is. For over 60 years GEMS has provided relevant resources to equip moms, mentors, and ministry leaders to understand the challenges girls face today. GEMS will equip you to help your girl embrace the Truth that she is loved by God—no matter what.
GEMS Club
Our GEMS Club runs from September to May and meets every other Thursday. This is for girls from Grade 2 - Grade 8
Cadets Club
Our Cadets Club runs from October to May and meets every other Friday. This is for boys from Grade 3 - Grade 8
The Calvinist Cadet Corps is a non-denominational youth ministry organization that provides churches with ministry programs that will enable them to effectively share Christ’s love with boys in their church and community.
Ladies Bible Study
Coffee Break is a ladies bible study program designed for women of all ages to establish and strengthen their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and with each other. The bible study runs every first and third Wednesday from mid-September until the end of April. Coffee and fellowship is on at 9:30 and the study starts at 9:45-11:00 am in the church cafe. Nursery is provided for children 0-3 and the Little Lambs program for children 3-5. The organizers also plan 2-4 evening activities for all the ladies of the church.
Sunday School
This program is for kids from preschool age to Grade 4. It runs weekly after the children’s message during the morning worship service from September to June. Teachers and students draw close to God by reading, learning and discussing a Bible passage from the living word of God, playing games and making a craft together.
Nursery
Nursery is provided every Sunday morning during the Worship service. It is available for infants 0-3 years of age and run by parents, church members and youth helpers. Children enjoy playing with an abundance of toys, reading books and have a small snack together.
Book Club
The book club meets on a Monday evening every 4-6 weeks (depending on the length of the book) at the church library. They discuss the book that was read, have snacks and spend a nice evening together. Anyone is welcome, young and old, and you can join for all the discussions or only for the book that you are interested in.
Choir
Choir is for every person, any age, who loves to sing, socialize and share the Christmas gospel in different places. Rehearsals are every Tuesday night from 7:30 - 9:00 pm starting in September until Christmas.
Catechism/Young People
This is for all youth who are in grades 9-12. They meet mostly on Tuesday nights from 7:30-9:00 where they start with a meal and then get into a Biblical lesson and end with games. Lessons focus on the Heidelberg Catechism and other topics. We strongly encourage all youth to attend. There will also be fun events with just our youth or with the Central Alberta Youth every other month.
Small Groups
The church has several bible study groups that meet during the year to study and socialize. Each group is a little different and meets when it works for them. Every group decides on the material they would like to study that year. This is a great opportunity to meet new families and dive deeper into the word of God.
